A tour of Ghana’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT)/ Security Operation Centre (SOC) ecosystem including a private sector CERT/SOC. Participants will have the opportunity to visit Ghana’s National and Sectoral CERT’s, understand how incidents are identified and coordinated amongst the CERT/SOC and interact with staff of these facilities.
Facilities to be visited include:
• Cyber Security Authority (CSA) – The CSA among other things is mandated to regulate cybersecurity activities in Ghana, regulate owners of Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) in respect of cybersecurity activities and create awareness. The CSA also hosts the National CERT.
• Financial Sector SOC – Hosted at the Central Bank of Ghana, the Financial Industry Control Security Operations Centre (FICSOC) has been established to monitor and provide alerts in the form of threat intelligence to the banks to improve their incident response mechanisms.
• Government SOC - Responsible for monitoring government systems and networks, the Government SOC is hosted with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
• Telecommunications Sector CERT – The National Telecommunications Authority (NCA) hosts the telecoms sector CERT. The NCA CERT is responsible for threat intelligence and incident response in the telecommunications sector.
• Private Sector CERT – A non-government facility that provides SOC-as-a-Service and its role in Ghana’s CERT ecosystem.
Participants will not have to make payment for the visit, however will have to cater for their meals since it will take almost the whole day. (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
There will be a pick-up and drop-off from your hotel in Accra.
