This breakout session focuses on the strategic importance of integrated coastal protection along Northern Java or ‘Giant Seawall’. By introducing the ambition of the Indonesian government, the session will provide relevant updates on how this ambition is operationalised, the establishment of the North Java Coast Management Authority (BOPPJ) and the coordination efforts among key ministries. The session will highlight the continued collaboration between the Netherlands and key Indonesian stakeholders and the anticipated next steps.
